Radiodervish
Centro del Mundo
Cosmasola - Il Manifesto
2002

Centro del mundo is the third Radiodervish’s album: 12 new songs, two of them are proposed also in pop versions, 14 tracks which draw a refined itinerary of images, words, languages and sounds.
Centro del mundo is the new project of Nabil and Michele Lobaccaro which synthesises the meaning of a musical itinerary where the difference is richness; where every point of view has a specific value which don’t annul the others, but it dialog with its opposite, where the centre of the world is not absolutely identical or the same to everybody.
Songs conceived as little laboratories where different cultures are interacting and dialoguing each other: matching and fusion of musical stiles which belong to both Arab and western traditions.
Centro del mundo set together and arrange the Babylon of the possible languages: Arab, Italian, English, French and Spanish. Words that tell about common myths of the Mediterranean’s cultures, about mystic symbology and worldly realities.
Sensual love become mystic and from spiritual it turn out to be earthly and completely human, always drenched with nostalgia of somewhat mislaid, with exile and wandering aimlessly.
The album produced and mixed by Roberto Vernetti and Mauro Andreolli was been recorded inside the church of Saint Giuseppe(XVIII century) in Conversano (Bari-Italy).

Lyrics: Nabil Salameh and Michele Lobaccaro.
Music and arrangements: Nabil Salameh, Michele Lobaccaro and Alessandro Pipino.
Two special collaborations: Zohar Fresco on percussion and Massimo Zamboni on electric guitar.
A strings quartet: cello Giovanna Buccarella, viola Matteo Notarangelo, violins Ida Ninni and Rita Paglionico.

Centro del mundo is published by the new-born label Cosmasola and distributed by il manifesto.
